Idea
The Idea of a full time burner city came to me during my first burn in 2006.
Perhaps it was the magic of the first burn but I had just seen this amazing piece of property and could not help thinking what these same people who built this amazing city I was seeing for the first time could build if we removed the two primary limitations of highway portability and temporary setting.
This image coupled with my recent accomplishments mixed with an inherent dissatisfaction with this default world we were born into has produced a plan steeped in anarchy. I will buy the property and we will build our own world.
The idea is simple. Adjustments will have to be made for realities. We will assign a full acre of property to each of the camps that produced an art car, a theme camp or an artery project in Black Rock City. Any group of people who came together for the burn. These are the people that built Black Rock City, These are the people who can build our new permanent burner city. We will assign a full acre and remove all restrictions, all hindrances and let the imagination of the members dictate what gets built and how big it is.
Every member will sign a waiver accepting responsibility for choosing what structures are suitable for entry. Every building can be labeled experimental like home built airplanes and any access is without warranty.
The cost of the property is negligible on such a scale as this. Other than an initial property reimbursement fee of $200 due at joining, all future monies collected by the city will go directly to the member owned non-profit to fund improvements such as roads, water and other things that all the members can build together and benefit together. Nothing else is due.
The magic in all of this will become apparent after a few years. I project eight years from the consummation of this plan we will have a city to rival Black Rock City. I have had a vision and it was a well lit nighttime wonderland.
