Location
The property is 75 miles due west from Gerlach on hwy 395 between Madeline and Likely on the mountain top 3 miles west of Sage Hen Pass.
The property is located approximately a half hour south of Alturas and one hour north of Susanville. It is strategically situated on the eastern side of the range near the break between the Cascades Range and the Sierra Range in northern California. It can be argued that this location is ideal for a number of reasons including security, isolation and convenience to the coast.
The property being in California and not Nevada will likely be beneficial as well for a number of reasons. Permaburn was meant to be and it is here. This place is huge. 640 acres will hold 2,400 quarter acre home sites complete with front and back yards and a home. This place could host a festival on its’ own.
The property is section 36 in the map above. Notice the water source as well as water all around the property. Notice all the brown BLM parcels surrounding section 36 and the road to hwy 395.
There are two small stock ponds. Each is about 100 ft by 100 ft. This picture was taken September of 2006 and at that late in the summer and they still had water and they are on the maps so I hope they are reliable.
